Rocco Petrillo

Rocco Petrillo, Dunmore, died Saturday morning as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Route 380.  His wife is the former Terri Craig.  The couple had just celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on November 2.

 

Born in the Bunker Hill section of Scranton, he was the son of the late Rocco and Mildred Sakson Petrillo.  He was educated in Scranton Public Schools  and attended the Immaculate Conception Church.  He had been employed for years as a chef at Stirna’s restaurant,  he was also the owner of Buff It Up Detailers and Petrillo Pizza before working for the Waste Management in Pen Argyl where he was currently employed.

 

Rocco showed his love for his family and friends through his cooking.  He had a big heart and was always looking after anyone in need.  Rocco had a passion for rescuing and caring for cats.  

 

Also surviving are a sister Sue Trunzo and her husband Pat of Dickson City;  aunts Magdelin Kohut and Agnes Sakson both of Jessup;  his mother in law Jean Craig of Dunmore; sister in laws Kathy Dakin of Dunmore,   Michele Zigga and her husband Eric of Throop; brother in laws Jim Craig and his wife Mary of Conneticut and Chris Craig and his wife Donna of Hanover Twp;  nieces and nephews Pattianne Troiani, Rose Sember, Peter Trunzo, Peter Vincinguera, Chrissy Dakin, Veronica, Jimmy and Camron Craig; great nieces and nephews;   He will be sadly missed by his family, endless lifelong friends and pets. 

 

He was preceded in death by his brothers Peter who died August 31, 2012 and John who died November 2, 2011; his father in law James Craig.

 

All attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning. 

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30am in the Immaculate Conception Church  801 Taylor Ave. Scranton by Rev. Joseph Sica, Senior Priest at Immaculate Conception Church.

 

Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St Scranton. 

 

Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond Rd. Clarks Summit, Pa. 18411
