Mary Jenkin

Mary Jenkin, West Scranton, died early Sunday morning at home after an illness.  She was the widow of Ralph L. Jenkin who died in 2005.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the John and Lizzie Douglas Dodds.   She was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School.  She was a lifelong member of the former Christ Presbyterian Church where she served as an organist and choir director for 55 years until its merger with the Presbyterian Church of Dunmore where she was a member.  Prior to retirement she had been employed by the North Penn Savings and Loan Association where she worked as an accounting manager. 

Surviving are a son Ralph L. Jenkin, Jr. and his wife Darlene; a daughter Cynthia Dagger and her husband Richard;  a brother Andrew Dodds;  her twin sister Elizabeth Hamborsky all of Scranton; grandchildren Jennifer Dagger and her partner Monica and Douglas Dagger and his wife Shayla;  beloved nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Richard and a sister Margaret Gardner.

All attending the funeral services are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30am in the Presbyterian Church of Dunmore 137 Chestnut St. Dunmore.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.

Interment, Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
