Marilyn Jeanne Eli of Scranton died Monday July 8th at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania with her family at her side.
 
Marilyn was born in Scranton on January 1, 1930 to the late Roland and Margaret Roll Sickler. She graduated from St. Cecelia’s Academy, Scranton, she was employed at Lewis and Reilly’s Shoe Store and spent 25 happy years as a house keeping department secretary for Community Medical Center.
 
She was the wife of Albert Eli who preceded her in death. Marilyn and Albert loved camping, boating, taking road trips together and rooting for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
 
Surviving are three daughters Donna Weber and Rev. Kathryn Simmons both of Scranton and Mary Ann Cummens of Portland, OR;  nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and her beloved beagle basset-hound, Duchess.
 
The family would like to thank the staff of the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, and Dr. Barry Kurtzer for their years of care.
 
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30am in the Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton.
 
Anyone attending the mass is asked to go directly to the church.
 
Friends may call Thursday from 5:00-8:00pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton, PA.
 
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
