Ann Regina “Jean” Reilly, 85, a resident of the GreenRidge Healthcare Center, formerly of the Petersburg Section of Scranton, died Tuesday afternoon in the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit, Dunmore shortly after admission.

Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late Charles and Loretta Mulrooney Reilly.  She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and attended the University of Scranton.   She had been employed by both the Eureka Specialty Company as well as Hadden Craftsman.  Jean was a devoted and lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church where she a member of the Social Action Committee and the 800 Club of which she served as president.  She was also a member of the President’s Club of the University of Scranton as well as the Ancient Order of Hibernians where she was an officer.  She and her family were also very dedicated to the University of Scranton and Marywood University Scholarship Funds.

Jean loved her family and friends and traveled extensively, especially to Ireland.

Surviving is her beloved sister Katherine Reilly of Scranton; cousins included Mary Gerrity Loscomb and family and James Douglas and family.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Loretta in 1982, Evelyn in 2002 and Joseph Reilly in 2012 as well as members of the Ford, Burke, Mulrooney, Gerrity, Loscomb and Douglas families.

All attending the funeral are invited to go directly to the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10am in the Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave.

Friends may call Thursday from 3-5pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.

Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
