Marion Casterlin, RN Scranton died Monday November 11 in the Lewis/Gale Hospital, Salem, Virginia following an illness.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Everett A. and Lydia Jenkins Casterlin.   She was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1940 as well as the West Side Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1943.   She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Scranton in 1963.  Marion served in the US Army Nurse Corps. as a 2nd Lieutenant during World War II.  She retired in 1980 as a certified occupational health nurse at  Consolidated Molded Products after 30 years.   She was a member of the Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Trillium Guild and formerly sang in the choir.   She was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post 665, Dickson City and was a Past Commander of the former Nurse Post 550.  She was also a member of the Community Medical Center School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Surviving are a brother William T. Casterlin of Melbourne, Fl; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother Alan.

There will be no public viewing.

Private graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family in the Clarks Green Cemetery.

    I would like to express our sincere regrets on the death of Marion. I am marilyn Walsh and Drew Walsh next door neighbors of Marions. We loved her and respected her so much. I will pray for her and her family. My sister Martha Ruddy died on Oct. 16 and appreciate all of her kind prayers that she said for my sister . iam proud to say she was a good friend.
