John P. Healey, Dallas, formerly of Clarks Summit and New Jersey, died early Sunday morning in the Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Medical Center Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit after an illness.  His wife is the former Dorothy Lodwick.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William F and Elva Pippet Healey.   He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and attended Temple University.   Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Bell Telephone for 35 years in Sales and Marketing.  He was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers.   John was a United States Army veteran.
John was an avid Penn State football, Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.
The family would like to thank the staff of the John Heinz Rehabilitation Center and Celtic Hospice of Wilkes Barre  for the compassionate and dedicated care shown to John.
Also surviving are a daughter Lisa Bright and her husband Tim of Sewell, NJ; a son Paul Healey and his wife Colleen of Tunkhannock;  sisters Mary Elva Healey and Jo Hall and her husband Edward all of Traverse City, MI;  grandchildren Tyler Bright and Michael and Meghan Healey;  several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother William.
A blessing service will be held private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
Interment, private in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
