Audrey H. Fletcher, West Scranton, died early Thursday morning in the Geisinger Community Medical Center after being stricken ill at home.  Her husband is Alfred Fletcher.  The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 12th of this year.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Dorothy Williams Hughes.   She was a 1953 graduate of West Scranton High School.  Prior to her retirement she had been employed as branch manager for the Citizens Savings Bank, West Scranton branch.  Audrey was a lifelong member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir.

Also surviving are a son Rev. Dr. Alfred J. Fletcher and his wife Norma  of China, Maine; a sister Sandra Rusnak of Elmhurst; four grandchildren Caleb D., Steven A. and his wife Sara, Sarah E. and Lydia A.;  two great grandchildren Sophia N. and Isiah D.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Steven and a sister Dorothy Lowe.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10am in the Jackson Street Baptist Church, 1206 Jackson St., West Scranton.

Those planning on attending the services are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-5pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.

Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson St. Baptist Church Memorial Fund 1206 Jackson St. Scranton, 18504.

    she was one of the sweetest Godly woman I knew. She was so influential in my & my husband Gene’s life starting as early as VBS when we were just children. She will be greatly missed by all who knew & loved her.
