Thomas J. Jones, Jr., Kingston, died Thursday night in the Manor Care Nurisng Facility, Kingston after an illness.   His wife was the former Joan Evans who died on May 31, 2013.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of  the late Thomas and Margaret Pugh Jones.   He was a graduate of the West Scranton High School and attended the Bethel United Methodist Church, Brinktown.   Prior to retirement Tom had been employed by Capitol Records as a traffic manager for 25 years and was also the co-owner of Tommy’s Flower Shop in Scranton.  After retitement he and his wife moved Florida and he began working at the Grand Floridian Resort at Disney World in it’s floral design group.  He volunteered at the Manor Care Facility  and was also a Cub Scout Pack 30 Leader and Boy Scout Troop 30 Leader.   He was an avid hunter and raised beagles.

Surviving are a daughter Barbara Kobesky and her husband Raymond of Scranton;  sons Thomas W. Jones and his wife Bryn and William Jones all of Brinktown,  George D. Jones and his fiance Kathy Haley of St. Louis, MO,  and Richard J. Jones and his wife Leslie of Kingston;   sisters Betty Arscott of Scranton and Peggy Chivers and her husband Darwin of Cliffwood Beach, NJ; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren;  several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10am in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton with services by Crystal Baumgardner.

 Friends may call Sunday from 2-6pm.

Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery.
