Florence Eder, 99, a resident of Allied Skilled Nursing, formerly of West Scranton, died Thursday morning in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of George Eder who died in 1989.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Guenell Evans. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was a life long and devoted member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church, West Scranton. Her many activities in the church included her membership and former teacher of the Florence Eder Sunday School Class for 38 years, the Mispah Sunday School Class and the T.O.P.S.
Surviving are a daughter Gail Charlesworth and her husband Russell of Fairfax, Virginia; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sons George, Scott and William.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11am in the Washburn Street Cemetery, West Scranton.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vanston and James Funeral Home and are under the care and direction of Robert C. Jones, Funeral Director.
