John S. Rohulich

John S. Rohulich, Greentown, died Tuesday evening at the home of his sister in Uniondale after an illness.  His companion of over 30 years is Sylvia Arcesi of S. Wavery, NY.

Born 1953 in Peckville, he was the son of the late John and Bessie Reynolds Rohulich.   He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and earned a degree in computer science from the Pennsylvania State University.  John was a computer programmer for the Veterans Administration in Philadelphia as well for the following local companies Masonite, Prudential Insurance and Emery Air Freight.

John loved the outdoors and living in Greentown near Lake Wallenpaupack.  He loved and knew every inch of the lake.   There was truly no place else he would rather be.   He loved to hunt and fish.

Also surviving are sisters Linda Rohulich of West Nicholson and Debbie McLean and her husband Tom of Clifford Twp; an uncle; cousins; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of John’s life will be held Saturday at 10am in the Tompkinsville United Methodist Church 1448 Heart Lake Rd. (Rt. 107) Tompkinsville by Rev. Beth Taylor, pastor.

The family will receive friends from 9am until time of service in the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.

    I am grateful to have known John for even a short time. We were instant friends upon meeting in 1985-86. He lived the life that all of us who are passionate about hunting and fishing dream about.
