Mary F. Richard, 80, formerly of Dunmore, died Wednesday August 30th at Holy Family Residence.
Born in Scranton, the daughter of the late William Richard and Mary Agnes McNamara. Mary was a secretary for various insurance agencies in the Scranton area but found her true calling as a volunteer for Deborah Hospital, the Catholic Daughters and the St Paul St Claire Parish Community of which she was a member.
Surviving are a niece and nephew, Stephanie and George Richards and three great nephews, Ashton, August and Atticus all of Califonia.
She was preceded in death by brothers William and George.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:30am in the Holy Family Residence Chapel (2nd flr) 2500 Adams Ave Scranton by Rev. E. Francis Kelly, chaplain.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Residence.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Ash St. Scranton.

Mary was a tireless worker for the Scranton Area Chapter of the Deborah Foundation. Our family joined after my Dad( Leonard Verrastro)’ surgery. I remember many meetings and fund raisers. And Mary was always there.
