Betty Jane Miller, Scranton, died Tuesday night in the Allied Skilled Nursing Center after an illness. She was the widow of Howard “Dusty” Miller, Sr. who died in 2007.
Born in New Cumberland, PA she was the daughter of the late Percy and Susie Shaffer. Betty was of the Methodist faith and had attended both the Dunmore and St. Paul’s United Methodist Churches prior to her illness. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the local garment industry.
Surviving are a son Howard Miller, Jr and his wife Gina of Scranton; a twin sister Bessie Yorty of Carlisle; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings James. Eugene, Chester, Charles and Richard Shaffer, Evelyn Diller and Ruthanna Eickelberger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Chapel at Fairview Memorial Park, Rt 435 Elmhurst, PA officiated by Rev. Fred Snyder.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 15120 Chicago, IL 60693.
