    To the Entire Cummings Family,
I just want to pass my condolences on for the passing of ( as far as I’m concerned) a true legend!!! I absolutely loved your mom and some of my greatest and fondest memories were when we worked together at the Jefferson Center. She was the best and funniest teacher’s assistant I had the pleasure of working with? Everyday was an adventure with your mom and there was never a shortage of laughs. I am so glad I had the opportunity of getting a visit in with her not to long ago at Elan Gardens. When I think of Scotty, it will always be with a smile and a big heart?? Thoughts and prayers to our to the entire Cummings family??

  7. To the Entire Cummings Family,
I would like to pass my condolences on to the entire Cummings family. My heart is a little heavier knowing we have lost a LEGEND!!! As a teacher’s assistant, I got the best!! We made so many wonderful memories together and many, many laughs. She was like a second mother to me and when I think of her, I smile. Each day brought something new from your mom. This is why I loved her so much. She made work so interesting.
I am so happy I was able to get a visit with her not long ago at Elan Gardens. She still continued to make me laugh even though, she took a little while to actually remember me. I will miss her dearly but, will always have very fond memories we made together.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Rest in peace my dear freind!

    To Ms. Mary Louise family and friends;

First, my condolences to All, know that I extend my prayers to each of you and ask, that God will provide; comfort, peace and strength to each of you during this time of mourning.

While I never personally met Ms. Mary Louise, I must share how she has contributed to my life and how those contributions assisted in molding me to become; the man, father, husband and servant for The Almighty that I am today.

During the year of 1980 I was assigned to a position that allowed me to cross paths with a young-man that gave me an opportunity to show my ability, rather than him come to a conclusion that many would, based on my professional record. I could state now as I said then “My record was not a True Reflection of Whom I am.” However, if it were not for the “DNA / Genes of Ms. Mary Louise, my professional career would of been terminated shortly after this meeting I had with this young-man.

That young-man, Jimmy Cummings; showed mercy, kindness and the heart of “finding the Best in a Person.” Those attributes in his character, I am sure are traits engraved in him from his mother, Ms. Mary Louise. Therefore, I say Thank You, Ms Mary Lousie for your love and parenting skills provided to your son (Jimmy), which contributed significantly to my becoming a Sergeant Major in the United States Marine Corps and eventually becoming a Military Family Advisor for military organizations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Reality; We all learn sometimes in life our efforts to make a positive impact and a difference in this world. Well those efforts may not be seen by us during our lifetime. However, by the power of the Holy Spirit, He places certain “Saints / Angels” in strategic locations along our journey in life; For we know “His plans are for us to prosper”…Amen.

As we celebrate the Life of Ms. Mary Louise Perry, I said “Thank You Ms. Mary” for your love that you breathed into the life of Jimmy. Because through “The Life You Lived;” God has blessed me and allowed me to bless others, My Sincere Thanks and Appreciation to the entire Cummings (Mitzi & Kids) / Perry Family. “Rest in Heaven” Ms. Mary Louise Perry.

    To God Be The Glory!

    Love

Dear Scotti Cummings and Perry Families:

I can’t express how sorry I am to hear of Scotti’s passing. In reading the comments on this site, one can immediately sense she was a “Force of Nature” in her time on Earth. I have fond memories (circa 1960) of eating cereal with Jimmy in her kitchen on Williams St. in an atmosphere of sheer chaos. Shamus shouting to Jimmy about his latest infraction, babies crying, Mad Max the boxer walking around liked he owned the place, and Scotti, God bless her and watch over her, completely calm. My mother, Cena McMullen (also with 5 children) did not drive. Our salvation during the summer months was Scotti who would pull up with her station wagon full of kids and she would drive us all to the lake for the afternoon. What a wonderful person she was.

    Rest in peace Scotti.

    Dear Scotty Cummings family,

My heart felt condolences for Scotty’s loss.
She was a pistol of a lady with such a great big heart. I also remember the ten of us in her station wagon. How those women stayed sane is a mystery! God bless you.

Dear Mary, I am so sorry to hear about your mom passing away this past Sunday evening. I know how much you love her and will miss her earthly presence. The few times that I spent time with your mother I could easily see where you got your lovely personality. Your mother was first class all the way and a joy to be around. I believe there is a great reunion in heaven happening at this time. I am praying that Jesus will give you comfort and peace. Love you dear friend, Martha

I am so sorry to hear about the death of your mom. I first met her and your dad when I joined Christ the King Parish. Over the years between church, church picnics and my aunt, Marie Canavan, I got to know her well. Mrs.
Cummings was such a welcoming person. Always a kind word for me. I enjoyed seeing her and Mr. Perry at Mark’s house and at their parties. She never minded that I just couldn’t get the nack of calling her Mrs. Perry and I continued calling her Mrs. Cummings until the last time I saw her at Aunt Marie’s funeral. I was so grateful to see her and get a little bit of time to spend with her. The world is a sadder place without her in it, but, heaven got a gift with her.

  20. Kevin McMullen

My sincere condolences to the Cummings/Perry families. I have fond memories of piling into the Cumming’s old (1952?) “Woody” station wagon with Mrs. Cummings at the wheel and my mother as a clueless co-pilot, to head out for adventures to the Eynon Drug Store or Gouldsboro State Park, with a carload of us kids. But that car had a bad clutch or something, and it would stall out at intersections all over Dunmore! Your mother took it all in stride; she was a class act; a lovely and loving individual with a great sense of humor.

  21. Bocker & Marilyn Hunt

The Hunt family wishes to express our deepest condolences to the Cummings family for the loss of their precious Mom, “Scotty”. Our parents Mary & Tom were such close loving friends of Shamey & Scotty. Many visits to Williams St (both houses), Drinker St. even trips to Tobyhanna State Park for picnics, our parents would have a blast while the Hunt & Cummings kids got to play together. Always assured that a meet up with Shamey & Scotty and family would be a fun trip for the Hunts. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you at this difficult time. May your wonderful memories always bring a smile to your heart.
