Michael Patrick Lydon, 60, of Scranton, died early Tuesday in Hancock, N.Y., while fishing with his brother. His wife is the former Mary Jane Powell. The couple would have been married 40 years in October.
He was born in Scranton, son of Florence Kubacki Lydon of Scranton, and the late Dr. Paul T. Lydon. He was a 1968 graduate of Scranton Central High School and a graduate of Keystone College. He had been employed by GNB Battery for 25 years as the human resources manager and for six years at Chamberlain as a health and safety manager.
Also surviving are a son, Dr. Paul M. Lydon, Clarks Summit; a daughter, Rachael E. Parry and husband, David, Archbald; a brother, Paul Lydon and wife, Kali, Lititz; two grandchildren, Kirsten and Kyle Lydon; a brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and nieces. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Lydon.
A memorial service will be held June 25 at 2 p.m. in the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St., Scranton. Friends may call June 25, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
