Elizabeth W. Reed, West Scranton, died Wednesday evening in the Mountain View Care Center. She was the widow of Robert C. Reed, Sr. who died in 2000.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Giles Williams. She was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School. She was a member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church, West Scranton and its Young at Heart Club. Prior to retirement she had been employed as a bank teller by Citizens Savings and Loan.
Surviving are a daughter Barbara Kovaleski and her husband Robert of Scranton; a son Robert C. Reed, Jr. of Scranton; two granddaughters Aliceson Hubert and Pamela Reed; three great grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers David and Jack Williams and a sister Lois Gallagher.
Anyone planning on attending the funeral is invited to go directly to the church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10am in the Jackson Street Baptist Church corner of Jackson St and Hyde Park Ave, West Scranton officiated by Pastor Kory Houser.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-8pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St Scranton.
Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
