Marlene C. Davis, RN, Scranton, died Thursday evening in the Moses Taylor Hospital. Her husband of 46 years is William C. Davis.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Walter, Jr. and Mary Alice Barber Dagger. She was a 1962 graduate of West Scranton High School and also a 1965 graduate of the Community Medical Center School of Nursing. She was raised in the First Welsh Baptist Church of Scranton. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Community Medical Center, Mercy Hospital, and for 25 years at Moses Taylor Hospital of Scranton before retiring in 2003.
Marlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was a humble and giving person. She took great pride in her nursing career, providing comfort to those in need, and touching many lives. She loved vacationing with her husband in Florida. Marlene was proud of her Welsh heritage and having been able to travel to Wales.
Also surviving are daughters Robyn Kathryn O’Brien and her husband James of Nicholson and Heidi Lynn Klapatch and her husband Bruce of S. Abington Twp.; a son Christopher William Davis and his partner Camilo Aguirre of Scranton; a sister Kathy Nalevanko and her husband John of Moscow; a brother Richard Dagger and his wife Cynthia of Scranton; six grandchildren Jimmy, Matthew, Holly and Billy O’Brien; Samantha and Nicholas Klapatch; an aunt Mary Grace Barber of Scranton; several nieces and nephews; a grand niece, and two grand nephews; cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton with services by Rev. Peter Fox of the Steamtown Church.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8pm and Tuesday morning from 10am until time of service.
Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.
