Mary A. Nerges

Mary A. Nerges, 92, Scranton, died early Thursday morning in the Allied Skilled Nursing Facility. She was the widow of Steve Nerges, Sr. who died in 1996.
Born in the Bulls Head Section of Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Pasquele and Rose Polito Trunzo. She worked for many years at the Parodi Cigar Factory.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Allied Skilled Nursing Facility and especially the Alzheimer’s Unit for their extraordinary and compassionate care.
Surviving are a son Steve Nerges, Jr and his wife Linda; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters Tomasina Abballe, Yolanda Argenta, Ann Davitt, Esther Linko and Regina Manci; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Rose Ann Weikel; sisters Rose Vacchiano and Christine Burke; brothers James, Serafino and Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10am in the Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton.
Friends may call Monday morning at the church from 9am until the time of Mass.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
