Cheryl McNichols

Cheryl McNichols, Taylor, died Monday evening in the VNA Hospice at the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness.
She was born in Scranton, daughter of Marion Atkinson Hanis of Taylor and the late Louis T. Hanis. She was educated in Scranton Public Schools. Cheryl was of the Catholic faith.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the VNA Hospice at the Geisinger Community Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to the entire family.
Also surviving are sons Keith of Florida and Ryan and his companion Jennifer Lita of Old Forge; daughters Stacy McNichols and her fiancé Joe Tryonas both of Old Forge and Katelyn McNichols of Scranton; her beloved grandchildren; her brother Robert’s children who she loved and thought of as her own Brande and Allay Legora of Scranton and Robert Hanis of Taylor; a sister Marion “Princess” Grasso of Taylor ; several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by brothers Michael, Robert and Louis Hanis. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
