Frank Rasieleski
February 8, 2014
Frank Rasieleski (Ras) passed away February 8, 2014 at the age of 73 years.
He was son of the late Francis Rasieleski and Agnes Rasieleski and is survived by his current wife, Gretchen Rasieleski.
Frank was born January 3, 1941 in Scranton. He graduated Scranton Technical High School.
Frank honorably served his country by enlisting in the Air Force between 1960 and 1962 during which time he played baseball in the Armed Forces League. Following his discharge, Frank played as a pitcher for the Los Angeles Triple A Team. Upon return to Northeastern Pennsylvania he worked in a variety of positions for Mark IV Industries starting as a truck driver and working his way up to sales manager. Despite humble beginnings and the lack of a formal education, Frank achieved success in business which remains unrivaled in Northeastern Pennsylvania. When the opportunity presented itself, Ras with a group of friends and investors, bought the modular division of Mark IV Industries, renamed it Contemporary Homes and grew the company from a single plant with a handful of workers to three plants employing 600 people and producing in excess of 2000 homes per year. Ras retired from Contemporary in 1986 but pursued his interest in real estate development, hotel management and recreational activities.
Frank is survived by his youngest and most loving daughter, Tia Rasieleski, sister JoAnn Rasieleski Tryner, children, Lori, Lynn, Mark, his former wife, Susan Rasieleski, and in-laws Joseph and Gerri Scaccia, three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his brother Theodore Rasieleski and sisters Dolores Rasieleski, Eleanor Rasieleski Wyshock.
