Hazel I. O’Hora, Scranton, passed away Friday afternoon at home after an illness.  She was the widow of Thomas E. O’Hora who passed away in 1998.  The couple had been married 48 years.

Born 1919 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Ida Dings Hess.  She was educated in Scranton Public Schools and was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School.  Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Haddon Craftsman for 34 years and at the time of her retirement she took on the job of helping take care of her five grandchildren.

The family would like to make a special thank you to Peg Barrett for the wonderful care given to her during her illness.

Surviving are daughters Nancy Matiskella and Beverly Finnerty and her husband James;  grandchildren Lori Matiskella, Matthew, Ryan and his wife Vanessa, Colin and Megan Finnerty;  great grandchildren Eugene, Riley and Kellan Finnerty and several nieces.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. officiated by Rev. Patricia Lee.

Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Traditional Home Health and Hospice 113 West Drinker St. Dunmore, Pa. 18512.
