Nancy Rogers

Nancy Hallett Rogers, Olyphant, formerly of West Scranton, passed away early Sunday morning in the Mt. View Care Center after an illness. She was the widow of Thomas “Schooner” Rogers,Jr. who passed away in 2004.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Woodruff “Woody” and Florence Jenkins Hallett. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School and was a member of the former Washburn St. Presbyterian Church and its Sunday School. Nancy was also a member of the Jr. Welsh Society and the Lake Sheridan Cottage Association.
She enjoyed her many hours of crafting and sewing which many of her friends will remember her by.
Surviving are a son Tom Rogers and his wife Dorrie of Olyphant as well as her longtime friend Shirley Walsh.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10am in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton with Rev. Earl O. Cassel officiating.
Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9am until time of service.
Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
