Janice A. Nash, RN

Janice A. Nash,RN, Clarks Green, formerly of Taylor died Saturday morning at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa..   Her husband of  53 years is Bradley Nash, Sr.

 

Born 1940 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Beryl Jones Swarts.   She was a 1958 graduate of West Scranton High School and a 1961 graduate of the Scranton State Hospital School of Nursing.   She was a member of the Trinity Congregation United Church of Christ, West Scranton.   Prior to her retirement she had been employed as a Registered Nurse at the Community Medical Center.

 

She loved to read, travel and dance.   Janice had a knack for decorating and landscaping but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.

 

Also surviving are a daughter Michelle Rose Nash of Taylor; a son Bradley Nash, Jr., Ph.D and  his wife Maria of Boone, NC;  grandchildren Bradley Nash, III and his fiancé Tracy Martin and Jessie Nash;  sister in laws Judy Phillips and Ann Swarts; a special cousin Nancy Secondi.

 

She was also preceded in death by a brother Edwin Swarts, Jr.

 

As per Janice’s request services and interment will be held private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association 63 N. Franklin St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 or to the American Heart Association 613 Baltimore Dr. Suite 3 Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vanston and James Funeral Home and are under the care and direction of Robert C. Jones, Funeral Director.

    I remember Janice fondly. I know we dated a couple of times in high school, but more importantly we were friends. I remember mostly her liveliness and friendly personality. I’m glad she was a part of my life. My sincere condolences.
