Angela Griffin Rink

Angela Griffin Rink, formerly of Dunmore and a current resident of St. Mary’s Villa, died Wednesday night after an illness. She was the widow of Francis P. Rink who died April 23, 2000. At the time of his passing, the couple was married 51 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Helen Mullen Griffin. She was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School and a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Parish, Scranton.
Surviving are four sons: Daniel J. and wife Lori of Ardmore; Terrence M. and wife Ann of Scranton; Christopher P. and wife Holly of Virginia Beach, VA; F. Gregory and wife Julie of Elkins Park; nine grandchildren: Ellen Rink Young, Emily Rink, David Rink, Brian Rink, Meghan Rink Lynady, Kathryn Rink Armezzani, Colleen Rink, Juliann Rink, and Colin Rink; five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving, a sister Helen Schumann of Scranton; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three infant sons; sisters Kitsy Hart, Lucy Pfohl, Anne Vanston and Jeanne Quackenbush; a brother Jack Griffin.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of St. Mary’s Villa, who provided loving care to Angela throughout her stay as a resident, and to Hospice of The Sacred Heart, who ministered to her during her final months.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10am in St. Paul’s Church 1510 Penn Ave. Scranton. All attending are invited to go directly to the church.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7pm at the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
Interment, private at the convenience of the family.
