Joan Lansdowne, 76, a long-time resident of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday at Geisinger – Community Medical Center after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s. She was the widow of William Lansdowne Sr..
Joan was born October 29th 1938 in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Clarence and Bertha Gorman. Prior to her illness, Joan loved spending time with her friends and family, shopping, travel with her husband, gardening and cooking. She thoroughly enjoyed raising her many pets.
Joan is survived by sons William, Jr., Jeffery and Reis and his wife Nancy; grand-children Billy, Cassie, Katie, Emma Lee, Nicholas, and Zach; several great grandchildren; several other family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her son Kevin; three grandchildren; a brother ; three sisters.
Services will be a private event for immediate family only.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.
