Dorothy L. Devers, Scranton, died Sunday in the Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary McCarthy Devers. She was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School. Upon graduation Dorothy went to work for the Diocese of Scranton and she was eventually employed by Msgr. Andrew McGowan as his secretary and later worked as a secretary at Marywood University in the accounts payable department. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Surviving are a sister Mary Devers of Scranton; brothers Patrick and his wife Jean of Clarks Summit, Joseph and his wife Linda of Long Island, NY and Paul of Scranton; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister Patricia and brother Robert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton.
Friends may call Thursday morning from 8:30am until time of Mass.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

I also graduated from Scranton Technical High School. I remember Dorothy in my classes at Tech. She was a lovely and friendly person.
