Gerald Davies

On Thursday, December 3, 2015, Jerry Davies (as he was known to all) woke up and went about his usual tasks; feed the cats, kiss his wife, and make the trip to Watertown for a medical appointment. But, as we often say, life happened to take a turn for him on his return trip to his home in Chaumont and he didn’t quite make it all the way to the place that he called his paradise.

After serving in the United States Army, Jerry enjoyed thirty-two years at PG & W as a Water Quality Technician but enjoyed retirement more in the place that he designed and built from a wooded parcel of land. He loved to fish, loved Fox News & his family.

Jerry will rest in his paradise and will be forever adored and remembered.

Jerry is survived by his best-friend and wife, Bernadette “Bonnie” Davies, who will miss him terribly. The kids as he called them: Carolyn Quinn and husband Patrick of Scranton; Joseph and wife Lee Ann (Thomas) Davies of Madison Twp, and Bonnie Gushlaw and husband Jeff of Watertown, NY will remain close to her and provide her support;  his grandchildren, Geri Lynn Smith, Ian Smith, Karissa Tugend, Jonathon Tugend-US Navy, Colin, Liam and Aidan Quinn, and great-granddaughter, Dahlia Quinn provided him much love and many laughs.

Services are private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston & James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.

Jerry was a remarkable, quiet man with amazing talent. I learned much from him; he was a great father in law on top of being a devoted family man. His home in NY State is his greatest legacy, built from his vision by his own hands for family and friends to enjoy for all time. His mark is everywhere. I will miss him tremendously. Thanks to Chris James and staff for helping to honor Jerry’s memory. Pat Quinn.
