Phyllis Solimine Yantorn, 99, a resident of Holy Family Residence, passed away Sunday in the residence. She was the widow of Ralph Yantorn.
Born in 1917 in Scranton she was the daughter of the late Biagio and Angelina Genello Solimine. She was educated in Scranton Schools and also lived in Dunmore and New Jersey. Phyllis, in her early years, did a lot of sewing as she was excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word games and reading.
Surviving are her granddaughter Susan Yantorn, her grandson David Bianco and her daughter in law Ann Marie Bianco McCool; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her first granddaughter Sharon Yantorn Macere, who was the love of her life.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Holy Family Residence, its wonderful nurses and especially Sister Theresa, l.s.p. who did so much to make her comfortable at all times.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30am in the Chapel at the Holy Family Residence 2500 Adams Ave. Scranton by Rev. E. Francis Kelly, chaplain.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Ash St., Scranton.
