Ronald Paul Stubbs, Dunmore, died late Tuesday at home after an illness. His wife of 49 years is the former Mabel “Jean” Miller.
Born 1944 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Paul W Stubbs and Ruth E. Engle Caporelli. He was a 1962 graduate of West Scranton High School. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the Northeastern Transit Company as a charter bus and limousine driver. He had also delivered welding supplies for the Mitchel Welding Supply Company. Ron served six years in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He was a baseball fan and enjoyed opera, especially Richard Tucker. He also enjoyed a good Italian dinner and good friends. He loved his dogs.
Also surviving are a sister Sherry George and a brother Gary Stubbs and his wife Val all of Scranton; several nieces and nephews.
All attending the services are asked to go directly to the church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am in the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., Scranton.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-6pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to donor’s local animal shelter or to the American Cancer Society 712 S. Keyser Ave. Taylor, PA 18517.
