David Silva of Scranton died Monday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
Born in the Bronx, NY, son of the late Ishmal and Esther Colon Silva. David had worked as a musician and song writer. He was a member of the Street the Beat Band many years ago and also played and wrote music for various artists in the New York area. He had many friends in the Scranton, NYC and Bronx areas.
Surviving are his longtime, love and soulmate Lora Hosford of Scranton; sisters Rebecca Silva of the Bronx, NY; Elba DeJesus of the Bronx, NY and a brother Paquito Hernandez of Puerto Rico; additional family Ashley, Douglas, Lukas and Gavin Campbell of Clovis, CA, several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

Dave played guitar in my band in the 80’s. He was such a beautiful musician and person.
He was a true artist. We had some laughs he was a joy to know and work with.
I am saddened at his passing and my heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.
