Brooke Hughes

Brooke Hughes, 18, of Scranton, died Tuesday December 6^th Mt. Pocono after injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Born December 19, 1997, in Scranton she was the daughter of Rita Bonczkiewicz Hughes of Scranton and the late Michael Gerard Hughes who died in 1997.   Brooke was currently a junior at West Scranton High School.  She was employed by the Dairy Queen at the Viemont Mall. 

Brooke was a wonderful person who lit up a room when she entered it.  She was a social butterfly; everyone was her friend.  She would do anything for anyone.  There is nothing she loved more than being with her family.

Brooke’s passing leaves a hole in all the hearts of those who knew her, she will be forever missed.

Also surviving are her sister Nicole and brother Christopher Shupp both of Scranton; her maternal grandmother Joan Schlacter of Scranton;  nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles including Marie Evans and her husband Bruce; cousins including Brea who was her best friend.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather John Bonczkiewicz , paternal grandparents David and Marie Hughes; and her uncle John Bonczkiewicz.

A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 6pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton by Rev. Joseph Sica.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4pm until time of service.
