Stephanie Lynn Turetsky

Stephanie Lynn Turetsky, RN, BSN, 31, of Scranton, PA died unexpectedly at home on Sunday. She is survived by her husband, Karl Jason Turetsky, who was the love of her life. They celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary in November.

Born on July 26, 1985 in Scranton, she was the daughter of David and Patricia Lewis. She graduated with honors from West Scranton High School Class of 2003 and Marywood University Class of 2007 where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was employed by the Gino Merli Veterans Center as a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Ann’s Basilica Parish.

Stephanie was kind, compassionate, and extremely generous.  She always put others before herself. She took great pride in her profession and was truly devoted to the care of her patients. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and always looked forward to attending live games. She also enjoyed traveling near and far with Karl. She was passionate about animal rights and she dearly loved her cat Tiger.  A very social person, her happiest times were spent with family and friends. She especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home. She will be forever missed by one and all.

She is also survived by her parents, David and Patricia Lewis, Scranton, sister, Allison Lewis, Boston, MA, brother, David Lewis, New York, NY, brother Brian Lewis and wife Kelly, Scranton, brother Kevin Lewis and fiancé Nichole Marzani, Old Forge, her maternal grandparents, Chester and Joan Sopinski, Scranton, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lewis A. Jr. and Pauline Lewis.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash Street, Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Ann’s Basilica Parish, 1239 St. Ann Street, Scranton. Interment Abington Hills Cemetery. Family and friends may call Friday from 4-7 P.M.  Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
