Rozanne A. Davis, 69, South Abington, died Monday at Abington Manor Skilled Nursing Facility after a 3 ½ year battle with cancer.
Born December 20, 1947, in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Wierzbicki Kostick. Rozanne was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, Olyphant, Class of 1965. She served for seven years on the staff at Third National Bank, Scranton. She later transitioned to Emery Worldwide and worked in the Accounting department at Emery and its successor, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, for 35 auspicious years, until her retirement in early 2013.
Rozanne was truly an awesome Mom, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She was also an excellent sitter to her surrogate great grandson, Maxon, and his big brothers, Brandon and Connor. She was very close to her cousins and former housemates: Jerri, Patti, and Mike. Moreover, Rozanne was part of an exceptional crew of friends, including Diane, Andrea, Arlene, Mary Jane, and Cathy, to name a few, whose monthly lunches were a spectacle to behold.
One of Rozanne’s biggest dreams was to own her home. Thankfully, in 2009, she achieved her goal when she purchased her townhouse, which she decorated tastefully and with great joy along with her daughter-in-law, Leslie. All of us who cared so deeply for Rozanne were absolutely thrilled at her good fortune.
Rozanne is survived by her grateful son, Eric Davis and wife Leslie, South Abington, a wonderful grandson, Joseph Carlin, also of South Abington, and many close family members and friends. Her family would like to thank Dr. Georges Chamoun, oncologist, and Dr. Patrick Conaboy, family practitioner, for the excellent medical care they provided to Rozanne. The family would also like to sincerely thank the team at Traditional Home Health and Hospice, and the nurses and aides at Abington Manor for the superlative care and support they provided Rozanne during her illness. We are deeply indebted for your service and compassion.
The funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 A.M. in the Vanston & James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash Street, Scranton. Interment will be private. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington, PA 18411.
