Kim Orr, 52, Throop, died early Wednesday morning surrounded by family and friends at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit after an courageous year long battle with cancer.
Born 1965 in Scranton, she is the wife of John Orr of Throop and the daughter of the late Eugene and Phyllis Driesbach Oleski . She was a graduate of the West Scranton High School, class of 1983. Prior to her illness Kim worked for 28 years at the Community Medical Center.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Tinsley and the entire staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit for the excellent care they gave to Kim in her final days.
Also surviving are her son Matt and his fiancé Rebecca Masko of Clarks Green; sisters Regina Robb and her husband Jerry of Clarks Summit and Sherry Tuffy and her husband Frank of Scranton; aunts; uncles; several nieces and nephews; countless friends.
All attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in the Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton by Rev. Joseph Sica.
Friends may call Friday from 4-7pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart 100 William Street Dunmore PA. .
