John Eavarone, Scranton, died Friday in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness. His wife of 44 years is Barbara Eavarone.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Ross and Elvira Eavarone. He was educated in Scranton schools and was a lifelong Catholic. Prior to his illness he had been employed by the Superior Door and Sash Company as well as Perodi Cigar.
The family would like to thank the Meadows at Scranton for the excellent and considerate care shown to John and the whole family during his time there.
John had a big heart and loved to joke around and make people smile.
Also surviving are sons Ross, Joseph and John all of Scranton and a brother Anthony.
A private Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.
