Mildred Ruth Steckiel, Troy, PA., formerly of Dallas, PA, died Thursday in the Troy Community Hospital after an illness. She was the widow of Ernest Steckiel who died in 1982.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Crump Capwell. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Mildred was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Troy, PA.
Surviving are her sons Richard Steckiel and wife Lisa of Blue Bell, PA and the Rev. Mark Steckiel and wife Janis of Troy, PA; a sister Marion Davis of Scranton; a daughter in law Katherine Steckiel of Shillington, PA; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son William; a granddaughter Amy Steckiel; sisters Betty Koelsch and Elinor Lentes; brothers George, William and the Rev. Fred Capwell.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton by Dale Harper of the Fellowship Bible Church, Troy, PA.
Friends may call Monday from 10am until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment, Clarks Green Cemetery.
