Catherine Quinn, a resident of Simpsonville, KY, formerly of Scranton and Syracuse, passed away Tuesday morning after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Homer Quinn. The couple had been married for more than 40 years.
Born 1927 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine O’Connor Finnerty. Catherine received her education in Scranton schools and was a graduate of the St. Paul’s High School, Scranton. She had been a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Syracuse.
Catherine is survived by her daughter Karen Quinn and husband Kent Wicker of Simpsonville, KY; a grand-daughter Amanda Wicker of Cambridge, MA; sisters Anne Donahoe, Natalie Haggerty and husband Paul, Veronica Bryden and Theresa Healey; a sister in law Katherine Finnerty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Gilroy, Clare Donaldson, Margaret Ross and Betty Kelly; brothers Jimmy, Joseph and Jackie Finnerty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30am in St. Paul’s Church 1510 Penn Ave. Scranton.
Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:30am until the time of Mass at the church.
Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton, PA.
