Carl William Tuinylas

Carl William Tuinylas, Clarks Summit, passed away at the age of 75 after suddenly falling ill.

Born 1942 in Taylor, he was the son of the late Peter and Stella Tuinylas and was a 1960 graduate of Pittston High School.   He enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years as a administrative clerk while stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV.   After the service he settled in Las Vegas where he worked for several casinos before staying with the Palace Station for 35 years as a Keno Shift Supervisor.  He returned to NEPA in 1996 where he worked for Red Top Auto Sales as a limousine and bus driver until March 2018.

Carl’s interests included Florida State Football, the Los Angeles Rams and Angels, golf, traveling, cooking, photography and was a member of the Lithuanian Tauras Club.

He is survived by his sister Barbara Dorunda, his nephew John Dorunda and spouse Jenine and their three children Bryce, Madison and Jonathon.

He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Paul Peter Dorunda.

Services will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Ash St., Scranton.
