Velma M. Dixon

Velma M. Dixon, Petersburg Section of Scranton, passed away Monday afternoon at her home following an illness.

Born in Altoona and raised in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Arduino and Edna Antonetti Mangiacarne.   She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.  Prior to her retirement she had been employed by the Oliver Price and Rhodes Law Firm.

Surviving are a son Gary Gervasi and his wife Luci of Delaware;  sisters Erma DePietro and Esther Bertha both of Scranton;   three grandchildren; three great grandchildren;  nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her sister Frances Siekierka.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in the Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton.

Friend may call from 9am until time of service at the church.

Interment, Italian American Cemetery, Scranton.
