Mary Ann LaPaglia Caswell, South Scranton, passed away Tuesday at the home of her son. She was the widow of Harry E. Caswell, Sr. who died in 2009.
Born 1935 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Guiseppi and Dominica Criveilli LaPaglia and was educated in Brooklyn schools. She had worked as a waitress and for years at the former McDonald’s in Downtown Scranton.
Also surviving are sons Joseph, Dominick and wife Susan, William and wife Donna and Robert and wife Karen; sisters Anna Burnett and Felice Serrian; a brother Anthony LaPaglia; a son in law Andrew Grushinski; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son Harry E., Jr. and daughter Alberta Grushinski both in 2020; a sister Josephine Laird; brothers Frank and Michael LaPaglia.
All CDC guidelines including the mandatory use of facial coverings and proper social distancing will be strictly enforced. Please be prepared to pay your respects in a timely manner and exit the funeral after doing so. Temperature checks will also be given upon entering the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 10am in the Valley View Cemetery, Montdale.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St. Scranton.
