Judith Williams

Judith Williams of Scranton died Saturday morning at home following a long illness. Her husband was the late Jack Williams who died in 2009.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late James and Jessie McKeeby Tremayne, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and a member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the Woman’s Union, the L.O.A. Sunday School Class, the Flower Committee and the Young at Heart Club. She had worked as a secretary for Dr. Coolican until her retirement.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was known for her Welsh Cookies. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Surviving are a son Jack Williams and his wife Susan and a daughter Laura all of Scranton; a sister Barbara Stevens of Oneonta, NY; grandchildren Alexis and Morgan Williams.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11:00am in the Jackson Street Baptist Church 1206 Jackson St. Scranton.

Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00am at the Church.

All CDC guidelines including mandatory use of facial coverings and proper social distancing will be strictly enforced.

Please be prepared to pay respects in a timely manner while refraining from any physical contact.   


Upon paying your respects, it is asked that if you are staying for the service to take your seat while respecting social distancing regulations or should you not be attending the service it is kindly asked that you exit the church.

Interment, Washburn Cemetery, Scranton.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Jackson Street Baptist Church 1206 Jackson St. Scranton, PA 18504.

    Judy was a cherished member of our extended family. She will be sorely missed. Being a believer I am sure she is already up in heaven and reunited with Jack. Rest in Peace my friend.
