Virginia Seal Dailey, Hill Section of Scranton, passed away at home on Monday morning surrounded by her loving family.
Born 1943 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Randall and Frances Welby Seal. She was a 1961 graduate of West Scranton High School where she met her husband Thomas Dailey of 59 years.
Virginia devoted her life to her family and found great pride in raising her five children. She loved unconditionally and she will be remembered for her kindness of always putting others before herself. Living her best life was when she was surrounded by her children and she cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had many talents that we will carry with us including her love for reading, baking, sewing, and traveling but most importantly the importance of family and being there for one another.
She will be dearly missed by those that survive her including her daughters Melissa Dailey of Scranton and Jennifer Dailey of Scott Township; sons Timothy Dailey and his wife Ellen of Dunmore and Matthew Dailey and his wife Nadia of Kingston; a sister Marion James and her husband James of Scranton; a brother Paul Seal and his wife JoAnn of Sarasota, California; grandchildren Cassidi, Lindsey, Alexandra, Kaylee, Thomas, Lauren, Shane, Victoria, Julia, Jake and Matthew; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Glenn and brother Thomas Allen Seal.
All CDC guidelines will be strictly enforced, including the mandatory use of facial coverings and proper social distancing.
Please be prepared to pay your respects in a timely manner while refraining from physical contact. Once you have paid your respects it is kindly asked that if you are staying for the service to take your seat or we respectfully ask you to exit the church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2pm in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church 1000 Taylor Ave. Scranton by Rev. David Searing, pastor.
Friends may call Saturday from 1pm until time of service.
Interment, private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church 1000 Taylor Ave. Scranton, PA 18510.

Jill and I would like to express our deepest condolences on Virginia’s passing. It seems like yesterday
when we were at West Scranton High School together and your Mom and Dad were high school sweethearts. Our son Philip enjoyed being at your house on Clay Avenue with Matthew and always enjoyed himself and has very fond memories. Their friendship continues to this day because your Mom and Dad. We hope you all find peace, love and comfort among family and friends during these trying and sad times. May Virginia rest in peace in God’s hands and above all cherish her memory. Tom you are in thoughts and prayers.

Joy and I are sad to hear of Ginger’s passing. I have some great memories of visiting cousins and their families in Scranton/Taylor/Clarks Summit with my Mom and Dad (Ruth and Don Seal). Ginger and Tom’s home was always welcoming and full of laughter and activity. May you all find comfort in knowing she lived a wonderful life and will be at peace in heaven.

Deb and I were very sorry to hear of Virginia’s passing. Although we have lost contact over the years, I often think with fond memories of our many trips to Scranton around Thanksgiving and Christmas. There was never a dull moment when the two Seal clans got together. May Virginia find peace and joy in being together again with her loved ones that passed before her. May her children find solice in knowing that she had a life well lived and full of love.

I join David in expressing my condolences at Ginnys death. She certainly always made me feel like one of the clan. Our kids (Carrie, Katie, and Jake) remember a few visits with fondness for the pool and train display, as well as Ginnys making them feel so at home. I remember her smile and laugh. It was infectious! Sending the family warm thoughts and hugs.
