David Paul Coyne

David Paul Coyne 48, departed his grieving family on Wednesday December 16, after suffering a recent illness.

Born in Scranton on July 17, 1972, he was the son of Beverly Schroeder Coyne and the late retired fire captain of the Scranton Fire Department David P. Coyne. He received his diploma from Scranton Tech and was employed for the last 20 years by DeNaples Transportation where he loved working.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania Fire Apparatus Association. He was also well known for his Fire Apparatus Photography with his photos appearing in the Fire Apparatus Journal published nationwide and his photos are displayed in firehouses across the state.

Also surviving are his brother James, his sister Sheila, and his loving nephew Steven whom he loved like his own son. They loved spending time with each other and having breakfast together and were so close almost like father and son.

Due to the current health crisis and restrictions, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.

David was a great person, always very much enjoyed talking with him over the years. Dave also helped me become a better fire apparatus photographer by sharing all of his knowledge with me. Rest in peace, my friend. My heartfelt prayers go out to David’s family.
