Elizabeth A. Hoeffner

Elizabeth A. (Betty) Hoeffner, 91, of Scranton, died Monday evening at home. She was the widow of John T. Hoeffner, who preceded her in death September 14, 2003.


Born July 14, 1929, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Miller. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and worked at National Pretzel for many years. Prior to retirement, she worked at Adams Manor in the laundry department.


Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed working on puzzles, playing bingo, watching gameshows and going to casinos.

Surviving are her sons Robert Hoeffner and his wife Anne of Texas, John Hoeffner of Tunkhannock, and Andy Hoeffner and his wife Danielle of Scranton; 5 grandchildren, Kristen Wendell, Michael Hoeffner, Willie Hoeffner, Kayla and Rachel Hineline; 2 great grandchildren, Sadie and Burke Wendell; nephew Charles Perrella of Moosic; niece Roseann Perrella-Roche of Dunmore.


She was preceded in death by her sister Florence Perrella and niece Marie Dougherty.


Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
