Louise Hubert

On January 30, 2021, Louise Hubert passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 91. Louise, a lifelong Scranton resident, was born on September 17, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Frances Jordano. She was an honors graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was married to her late husband Charles Hubert from 1950-1996. Louise was a lifelong parishioner of Saint Rocco’s Church and active at Immaculate Conception Parish. 

 Louise has three children, John Hubert (Kathleen), Dunmore, Paul Hubert (Mary Kay Gilboy Hubert), West Chester, and Debbie Hyler (Greg Smith), Scranton. She has seven grandchildren, Jason Hyler, Lauren Hubert, Eric Hubert, Dr. Meghan Hubert Pap, Jordan Hubert, Shawnna  Kresge, and Sarah Hubert, all of whose professional accomplishments she was always so proud. Her great grandchildren include Connor,Colin,Viola,Vivian,Gabriella,Benjamin,and Bennett. She is also survived by her sister Betty D’Andrea, Scranton, and her brother Anthony Jordano (Susan),McLean,Virginia.

Louise was well-known through Lackawanna County as a specialist of men’s suits for 28 years at JC Penney’s and then 18 years at Boscov’s, rarely missing a day. She worked diligently until she was nearly 90 years old. Special thanks to Dr. Anees Fogley and his staff for their compassionate care over the decades. The world lost an unforgettable mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10:30 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue, Scranton. The family will receive friends in the church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. All those attending the Mass are asked to socially distance and are required to wear a mask. Interment is private at the discretion of the family at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.

In lieu of flowers, Louise’s wish is for the establishment of a fund for the future care and well-being of her great grandson Connor Earley. Checks may be made payable to John Hubert c/o
