Dalida “Dee” Clark

Dalida Allegrucci Clark, 71, passed away Sunday peacefully at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville with her family by her side, following a courageous battle with Leukemia.

Dalida or “Dee” as she was known to close family and friends was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1950 to Nunzi and Bessie Allegrucci. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Christopher Clark who passed in 2010.

Dee graduated from the West Scranton High School, class of 1967. Following graduation, she became a cherished employee of the Globe Store for twenty years. It was during this time she met and married the love of her life, Chris Clark. The couple spent thirty happy years together creating two loving sons, Colby and Justin. Dalida retired from the Globe Store to become a full-time mother, a job that she was so thrilled to have.  After her sons were grown, she later was employed by the Abington Heights School District for twenty years where she was the food service supervisor at the South Abington Elementary School. Until recently, she helped her son, Colby, at The Waverly Deli preparing food and, in the summer, worked at the Summit Hills golf course.  She was also a member of the 23v’s group, which consisted of many close friends that volunteered their time for various charity events each month.

Dee had a warm and generous spirit bringing sunshine to so many people’s lives. She loved people and was a natural caretaker for all that crossed her path. She formed many genuine friendships throughout her life and was one of the most fun-loving people not to mention the best Mother a son could ever ask for. She was notorious for her gift of gab and her inquisitive nature allowed her to get to the heart of any matter. Although she loved to chat, she was a wonderful listener offering gentle advice.  Her sense of humor and wit combined with her funny mannerisms provided for many laughs and good times. She found fun in the simple things in life- like her recent trip to Hot Dog Johnny’s where she purchased thirty-nine hot dogs for the workers at Nunzi’s. She also enjoyed shopping at Boscov’s and cooking for her family and friends.

Above all, her family came first, especially her two sons.  She absolutely adored them and continued to be their loving base of support following the untimely death of their father.  Holidays and family events will not be the same without her.  Her presence in our life reminds us what is really important- family, friends, and laughter. The heavens are brighter for having gained an angel,  while here on earth we need more people like Dee.  God rest her soul, as she will have a special spot in everyone’s hearts she touched.

Dalida will be deeply missed by her two sons, Colby and companion Gayle Sensi, Clarks Summit; Justin, Clarks Summit; a brother, Nunzi Allegrucci and wife Lisa, Scott Township. She leaves behind two nephews, Nunzi Allegrucci Jr. and wife Mileise, great niece Pearl, Clarks Summit; Jonathan Allegrucci and wife Julie, Scott Township; and a niece Alishia Allegrucci, North Abington Township. An aunt Maureen Allegrucci, Justus; cousin Donna Sparacino, Penn Valley; cousin Pam Sparacino, Taylor. as well as several other cousins, aunts, uncles, and an army of friends that all meant so much to Dee.

Special thanks to Dr. Guy Fasciana, Dr. Joe Lynch, and all of the staff at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for utmost compassionate care anyone could ever desire.  A heartfelt thank you to all of the family and friends that were so supportive during this difficult time.

    Colby and Justin,
I cannot believe your mother has left this life. The world will certainly be diminished by her loss of presence. She was a kind loving individual that I have had the pleasure and opportunity to have known for these last fifty years. If one were able to pick their own angel, none could be better than you mother.

    To Dee’s Family,
What a wonderful woman your mom was! She brought cheer to everyone who met her at South Abington School. Dee was a tireless worker and made the last, late lunch bearable for those of us who were assigned it. She will be missed by all of us and most of all by you. I will continue to pray for your strength and comfort in the days ahead. Love to you, Dee.

I am sorry to hear of Dalida’s passing, I was able to get to know Dalida this past summer while she battled her opponent leukemia. Dalida was a warm caring person, with a great sense of humor, and compassion for everyone, she would enjoy when I arrived with watermelons, she always had a warm greeting and smile. Dalida will be missed by many, but will remain in everyone’s hearts. My deepest sympathies to Justin, Colby and her entire family. The world is a lesser place with her passing…

OMG ! I’m so sad to hear about DEE. I was an insurance agent with you Dad Chris and shared so many memories of events with both Chris and Dee. What a beautiful couple. All they did was talk about their kids. I KNOW they loved you all. Chris and Dee are at peace together again. The world is saddened to have lost them both, but I am so happy to have have known them both. I’m sure I have a few pix I can share with you when I get a moment, Peace to all your family.
