Akemi Burch of Nanticoke passed suddenly in her sleep on March, 2 2021. She was born in Japan on November, 8 1966, in 1997 she made a life changing move to the United States of America with her now former husband and her little girl. She endured the difficulties of a new country, new language, strangers and evolved more than I have ever witnessed anyone evolve before. She attended Allied Health Institute, and graduated with honors. During her free time she liked to read , create crafts , play with her dogs, go to her favorite bar, listen to music. Madonna and Cher were two of her favorites.
She brought life into any room she entered, filled it with laughter and joy to all who came across her path. Akemi was always there with a helping hand to any in need, whatever she had was yours too if need be. She has made many friends during her journey here on Earth, and I know she will be dearly missed by all. She will be missed mostly by her surviving son and daughter. Akemi has gained her wings and will continue being the guiding light she has always been, please be at peace and watch over us from Heaven.
I want to thank Vanston and James funeral home for being so accommodating at a time like this. Also I want to thank Mr. Jacobs at the Luzerne county coroners office for your help and kind words. Lastly I want to thank all those who have touched Akemi’s life , thank you for caring about her and loving her.
May She Rest In Peace.

I’m sorry about your loss. I’ve known your mom over 25 years since you and your mom were in Japan. We had so many things we did together and she was always kind and smiling. All I remember is her big smile like sunshine. I regret not seeing her one last time and I miss her so much. I hope she rests in peace. Akemi san, so long until I see you again.
Maho Chan, please take care of yourself.
