Thomas McHugh

Thomas McHugh, Dunmore, passed away February 7th in Florida following a courageous battle with cancer.   His loving wife of 32 years is the former Mary Anne Bianchi.

Born 1948 in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Sumpter McHugh and was a graduate of Dunmore High School.   Tom was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and served our country honorably in the United States Air Force.   Prior to his retirement he had been employed by the Tobyhanna Army Depot where he was the Commissary Manager and had also worked for Sarno and Sons as a driver.   Tom was also a member of the American Legion Post 869, Archbald.

Tom was a kind and loving husband, brother, friend and neighbor.   He will be greatly missed by all who have been blessed to have known him.

Also surviving are his brother Joseph McHugh and his wife Nancy;  brothers in law Adrian Bianchi and his wife Adele, Joseph Bianchi and his wife Henny and James Bianchi and his wife Diane;  nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister Marcella Marsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 1st at 10:00am in the Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton.

Friends may call from 9:00am until time of Mass at the church.

Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Gino J Merli Veterans’ Center Resident’s Activity Fund 401 Penn Ave. Scranton, PA 18503.
