Ann Marie Solimini

Ann Marie Solimini, Dunmore, passed away Sunday afternoon in the Geisinger Community Medical Center after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer.   Her husband of  44 years is John Solimini.

Born 1952 in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Selma Kase Rummerfield and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Lackawanna College.  Ann Marie had been employed as a program specialist for over 25 years for Independent Residential Services as well as raising her children.

Ann Marie had one of the kindest souls you will ever encounter in this world.  No matter who you were or how long she had known you, she had a remarkable ability to make you feel comfortable and as though you had known her all your life.  Above all else, she was caring, genuine, thoughtful, and had a passionate love for her family and friends.  Ann Marie adored watching Star Trek, using her creativity to make homemade gifts, playing computer games, and singing or listening to others sing.  However, nothing brought Ann Marie more joy than spending time with those she loved, her sweet dogs included, at the place she loved most, Page Lake.

Also surviving are daughters Jennifer Courtright and husband William, Jr. of Archbald and Heather Solimini of Scranton;  a sister Michele Lebiak and husband Zandy of Taylor, her adopted sister Joanne Serino and companion Michael Musso of Duryea; her brother Thomas Rummerfield, Jr. and wife Joan of Dunmore;  her beloved grandsons Cooper and Clark Courtright;  nieces and nephews Tom Rummerfield, Amy Cortazzo, Zandy Lebiak, Jr., Tim Lebiak, Katie Montanaro and Allen Scheuch.

She was also preceded in death by her sister Rosemary Scheuch.

A memorial get-together will be held later in the Spring at Page Lake.  Date and time to be announced by the family.

We are all in shock. She was here so often at our office, she was like part of my family. Always fun to talk with. Always smiling. A bright part of my day whenever she was here with one of the pups.
