Betty J. Lee, Factoryville, formerly of Scranton, passed away Saturday afternoon in the Allied Services Hospice Center with her daughters by her side. She was the widow of Benjamin H. Lee.
Born January 25, 1934, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Martha Green and was a graduate of Lackawanna College. Betty owned and operated Flowers by Betty, a business she took great pride in. Her arrangements were prepared from the heart, and the quality and beauty of the work was paramount. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Elm Park United Methodist Church. She and her family decorated the sanctuary for the holidays and she and her granddaughter, Karri, were the stewards of the nursery at the church. They lovingly took care of the little ones so their families could worship. Through her husband Ben’s Masonic affiliations, Betty and Ben enjoyed traveling to various Masonic functions with their numerous friends. She was a member of the Keystone Consistory Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her beloved daughters Kimberly J. Lee and Betsy J. Miller, and her husband Bill; granddaughters Jill M. Zayac, and Rick Bronson; Lee C. Yeomans and her husband Doug, and Jane C. Miller; great grandchildren S. Grace, Xavier B. and Justus S. Bronson and Benjamin D. and Lily J. Yeomans.
Betty was also preceded in death by her daughter Karen S. Collins in 2018 and her granddaughter Karri Lynn Lee in 2016.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held Saturday, September 18th, 2021 at noon in the Elm Park United Methodist Church, 712 Linden Street, Scranton, officiated by Rev. Mike Bealla.
All attending are kindly asked to wear masks.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Elm Park United Methodist Church, 712 Linden Street, Scranton, PA, 18510.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.

i am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing.
My mom, Betty Yackamovich, was a friend of your mother’s.
I have fond memories of visits to the greenhouse in Dunmore.
My mother passed away in 2017 so I am sending condolences for us.
Now they will be able to visit comfortably and catch up on old times in heaven.

Betty, or as we affectionately called her….Miss Spaghetti will forever hold a special place in our hearts and the hearts of our children. What a wonderful legacy she leaves behind with the love and care she provided to so many children over the years.
