Nicole Lutz, Olyphant, passed away on October 18, 2021 after a brief illness.  She was the wife of Dwayne R. Lutz, who died in 2016.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Nicholas Rusyn and the late Rose Marie Fabian Rusyn.  She was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory High School and earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Scranton.  She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Throop. She had been employed by Harper Collins Publishers, Moosic.

Nicole loved helping others, but most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her daughter.  Nicole is survived by her daughter Megan Lutz of Olyphant;  step son Jeremy Lutz of West Scranton;  granddaughter Isabella Lutz;  sisters Lori Lambert and husband John of New Jersey and Luane Rusyn of Dupont; a brother Nicholas Rusyn of Dickson City; and a  niece Ashley Lambert.

A Blessing Service will be held  Sunday at 3pm in the Vanston and James Funeral Home 1401 Ash St Scranton by. Friends may call from 1pm until time of the Blessing.   


Interment, private at the convenience of the family.

    Such a beautiful soul to leave this earth much too soon. Nicole was a kind, gentle person. I am so very sorry for her loss, to her family. God bless you all and may Nicole rest in peace.
